Asian Geographic, one of my major clients, took home several prestigious wins at the 2012 edition of the Magazine Publishers Association of Singapore Awards.
The biggest award of the night—“Overall Magazine of the Year”—went to the flagship magazine, Asian Geographic (for which I am the Contributing Editor), which is packaged together with Passport travel magazine (for which I am the Editor).
Asian Geographic graphic designers were also joint winners of the “Designer of the Year” award.

The latest issue of Passport is hitting newsstands and the theme this issue is Southern Asia.
In this one I wrote a major feature on Bhutanese festivals called “Dances with Deities” in addition to my various other writing and editing duties.
The two other main features I commissioned were on adventure activities in Nepal and an epic journey across India. There’s also a great piece on a weekend break on the south coast of Sri Lanka.

In another contribution to Thai inflight magazine Sawasdee (page 65), I wrote a small piece on some of the best places to eat out in Sri Lanka’s capital, Colombo.
The single pager encompassed some personal favourites, including Sponge, a wonderful place for a sinful pastry; Long Feng, the best Chinese food I’ve had anywhere (China included); and Nuga Gama, which is the little village-style restaurant tucked in a corner of the Cinnamon Grand.

In the latest issue of Passport, I focused on the countries of East Asia, with features on the wide open spaces of Mongolia, trekking South Korea’s peaks and the festivals of Hong Kong.
As well as penning the regular guide section “The Big Picture”, I wrote a four-page piece on amusing yourself in Macau for a weekend.
